SUBJECT [Question] 1. What is a W3100A-LF?
NAME WIZnet DATE 2007-04-26 HIT 3088
W3100A-LF, developed by WIZnet, is an ASSP embedding most of the Internet Protocols that can be used with any internet connectivity device. To give life to any Internet connected device, TCP, IP, ICMP, and UDP must be supported and the W3100A-LF not only has these protocols but also MII(Media Independent Interface) for Ethernet I/F and Ethernet MAC, and buffers for data transmission and receipt. It also provides excellent interfacing with the MCU. In addition, the W3100A-LF can support HTTP, SMTP, POP, and DHCP with application programs in the MCU.
