SUBJECT [Question] 83. What does the Inactivity time of configuration option mean?
NAME WIZnet DATE 2012-09-03 HIT 2902

Once the connection is established, if there is no data transfer within a defined Inactivity time, the connection is automatically closed.

The default value is ‘0’. If ‘0’ is set, this function is not active.

Connection from the default settings is maintained even if there is no data transfer.

In order to close the connection, the Close’ command should be given.

Inactivity Time also can be useful for the case when the server system is unexpectedly shut down.

In this status, if there is no data communication during the time defined in the Inactivity time, chip will close the connection and enter into waiting status.

If you set the "inactivity time" to 3 sec, that terminates the connection after 3 sec from transmitting last data.

Our selectable range of inactivity time is 0~65535sec.
